UCC Minister Honored for Service to his City

Congratulations to Rev. David Hunting for receiving the Jerome Wheeler Award “given annually to an individual who has had a significant impact on the community!”

Rev. Hunting was honored at the Annual Dinner Meeting of the Manitou Springs Chamber of Commerce, and Visitors Bureau on Wednesday, February 27th. Nominations are received from the members of the Chamber, then a ballot is sent out to all members of the community for the vote.

We are very proud of Rev. Hunting’s support for his community as a whole. He serves as chairperson of the Economic Development Council, is Chaplain of the Manitou Springs Fire and Police Departments, Member of the Restorative Justice Board, has been an AdAmAn Member since 2005, was instrumental in the campaign of the city’s newly elected mayor, attends Urban Renewal Authority meetings, and serves on the Church & Ministry Team of the Southeastern Association of the Rocky Mountain Conference UCC.

According to Chamber of Commerce representative, Leslie Lewis, “Rev. Hunting has become Manitou’s most seen person – he’s everywhere, helping out and being a cheerful calming presence, involved with several committees and programs focused on enhancing our community. When you need someone to listen, Reverend Hunting will be there.”
