Radical Abundance: a theology of sustainability
The 2009 Trinity Institute Program

March 8th, 2009 from 3pm to 8:30pm; March 9th, 2009 from 6pm to 9pm
Saint John’s Episcopal Cathedral; 1350 Washington Street, Denver, Colorado

Every year, Trinity Church on Wall Street [www.trinitywallstreet.org] offers an excellent theological institute on a topic of contemporary importance. The 2009 program will be re-presented in Denver.

As we rethink how to grow, build, supply, consume, dispose, and recycle everything in our lives, we often fail at partnering with the marginalized and powerless, and thus adversely affect them. Building sustainable communities goes hand-in-hand with thoughtful building of infrastructures and physical spaces. Is there a theological basis for living abundantly while striving for justice and sustainability?

During Lent 2009 Saint John’s Episcopal Cathedral [www.sjcathedral.org], in partnership with Eco-Justice Ministries [www.eco-justice.org] and Colorado Interfaith Power & Light [www.coloradoipl.org], will be presenting the 2009 Trinity Institute Program “Radical Abundance: a theology of sustainability”. The Institute will explore sustainability through the lens of liberation theology, with keynote speeches and panel presentations by leading theologians and grassroots activists. Each session will consist of videos of the speakers, discussion time among local participants, and a meal. Registration for both sessions is $35. To register, please email the cathedral at greg@sjcathedral.org . If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Brian Ray James, Outreach Coordinator for Eco-Justice Ministries, at brian@eco-justice.org .
