| Gracy Huntley wins the Undergraduate Student Scholarship
Gracy Huntley is the winner
of the 2005 Rocky Mountain Conference scholarship. This year’s scholarship,
for an undergraduate student, is based on academic excellence,
service to the church and
community, and financial need.
Gracy graduated in May from Pinedale High School in Wyoming. She
will attend the University of California at Berkeley in the fall.
Gracy is mature and well-rounded, being an
outstanding student, athlete, artist, and an active contributor to
her church and community. She
has enthusiasm for whatever she undertakes, and has shown leadership
qualities, dedication, and initiative in many organizations. She
single-handedly organized and ran a recycling program in her high
school. In her congregation, Pinedale UCC,
she serves on the Church Council, leads the youth, and gladly takes
part in the worship service,
as a liturgist, musician, or dancer.
As part of the youth group traveling
in Venezuela, Gracy was a loyal team member, showing concern
for both fellow travelers and the underprivileged people we were
visiting.
The committee strongly endorsed this candidate and wishes her
success in the future.
