2009 Amenities Resolution
Rocky Mountain Conference, UCC

 Whereas the Rocky Mountain Conference of the United Church of Christ (RoMoCo) has gathered together at First Congregational Church UCC in beautiful Boulder, Colorado;

Whereas we have navigated the intricacies of limited, hourly, paid parking;

Whereas we have worshipped, prayed, sung, laughed and balanced feathers on hands, noses, and chins, conducted the business of budgets, nominations, resolutions, and recognitions;

Whereas we have been reminded that, in such a time as this, to achieve the mission of Christ we must remain both focused and flexible;

Whereas we celebrated average worship attendance increases of between 5 and 91% in churches across the RoMoCo;

Whereas we welcomed new ministers to the RoMoCo and the newest church to join the fellowship of the conference and the wider UCC – United Church of the San Juans;

Whereas we have explored parables through song, dance, sculpture, word and paint;

Whereas we have been challenged to question, “Are we a mission or an organization with a mission statement?”

Therefore, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the congregation of First Congregational UCC Boulder, and their pastor Martie McMane, for their extravagant hospitality.
